Dow AgroSciences as
West Hawaii's FIRST
Commitment to Excellence
Comparing pest control and fumigation companies effectively and comprehensively can be challenging for the consumer because although several companies offer similar service categories, few if any actually offer identical services. The consumer will find that service criteria, warranty provisions, and warranty duration varies from one company to the next, making it extremely difficult to compare “apples to apples”.
Because the needs and wants of consumers vary from one person to the next, there is no easy formula for choosing the right company. While some consumers base their selection on price, discounts, and specials, other consumers may opt to choose a company based on a company's performance history, choice of products, or a company's ability to offer multiple treatment options.
Nonetheless, there are several questions that a consumer should ask of any pest control or fumigation company before finalizing their choice of service provider.
What is your Pest Control Operators License Number?
Is your PCO License valid and in good standing?
How long have you operated in West Hawaii?
Are your technicians licensed by the Dept. of Agriculture to apply pesticides?
Are your Liability & Workers Compensation insurance policies current and valid?
For fumigation, does your company use a Fumiscope to monitor the gas levels of every job?
Is your company recognized as a Dow Agrosciences Commitment to Excellence Company?
Have you refumigated due to poor workmanship or ineffective treatment under your license number?
What is your history pertaining to pesticide compliance or misuse?
Do you have a record of consumer filed complaints with DCCA, Regulated Industries Division?
What is your rate of re-treatment occurrences?
What kind of warranty do you offer?
Do I have to pay additional fees or annual renewals to secure the warranty?
Will I be locked into a long-term contract?
What if I want to discontinue service with your company?
Ultimately, choosing the right company is based on what the consumer feels most comfortable with. As long as the consumer understands what they are buying, who they are buying from, and what they can and cannot expect, the consumer will be able to discover which company they feel can best meet their requirements and satisfy their priorities.
Consumers may find benefit in talking with friends, family, and neighbors and getting referrals from others in the community who have had positive experiences with a pest control or fumigation company. Additionally, you can check with the
